Each morning, the attendees were welcomed with coffee & pastries.

The coffee pot on the left was decaf. The pot on the right with the “real stuff” looks like it is “Rigged for Depth Charge.”

You can always attract submariners with food!

There were two silent auctions and a third live auction. The following photos are just a few of the items up for bid:

Our Western Region Director, Vic Van Horn, was the auctioneer for the live auction.

Some other miscellaneous photos.

The Silver Legacy Resort and Casino dropped off Perch Base members Dan Marks & Howard Doyle to a nearby restaurant for dinner. When we called them to pick us up to return us to the hotel after dinner, they showed up with a stretch limousine. We were riding in style!

There were 3 Memorabilia Auctions held during the Western Region Roundup. Perch Base member Bob Gilmore shows off one of the bids that he won.

Your Roundup Co-Webmaster, Dan Marks, is seldom in any pictures because he is almost always on the other side of the camera. Here is an exception in the Silver Legacy Resort & Casino registration lobby.

We found out that a Submarine Veteran, John Holtzer, who was an MS3(SS) on the San Francisco (SSN-711) from 1982 to 1985, now operates a food truck in Reno, NV. Dan Marks, Howard Doyle, Marcia & Don Unser tracked down his truck and had lunch. The food truck is about the same dimensions as a submarine’s galley and he served us out a small window, just like the old days! AND, his food was great, just like in the old days!
